After much begging from many fans for more information about what she has in store for us in Strike 9, J.K. Rowling has indulged us with an early Christmas present in the form of a new X/Twitter header.

The header is a photograph of a gold charm bracelet with thirteen charms attached.
She also posted the following at the same time:

In subsequent tweets, she confirmed that most of the charms were purchasable separately but some of them were vintage and therefore might be harder to find.
She also said “I think I’m going to do something with the bracelet once the book’s out – a prize or something.”
The charms are as follows, from left to right.
A small gold heart-shaped box containing a gold ring set with two diamonds
Nick Jeffery identified this as a vintage 1960s charm possibly as sold here. An identical one was sold on ebay here.
This is the second diamond ring JKR has associated with the next book. A few days previously, she tweeted that the emoticons for book 9 were a blue butterfly, a diamond ring and a coffin.

A small gold egg set with what look like diamonds
Nick Jeffery found this Faberge-inspired charm for sale here.
A gold anchor
Might this relate to ships or the navy? JKR’s previous header was of Portsmouth, the Royal Navy’s home and primary base.
What looks like an angel with a pink tunic, turquoise wings and a halo
Possibly a cherub with a white robe
A horse set on a platform with wheels
This has also been identified by Nick Jeffery as a trojan horse charm, found here.
A jack-in-a-box
BadlyWiredLamp identified this as a Jack-in-a-Box charm, with the Devil rather than Mr Punch.
JKR said this is her favourite. “My favourite is probably the little box. It’s the spookiest, anyway.”
An hourglass with rose pink coloured sand in the glass
A white rose of Yorkshire
The first clue we were given about Strike 9 was a picture of York, and JKR has since confirmed to the StrikeFans team that the Waterfront, a pub in the city, features in the book. Another fan tweeted to ask if Strike visits Masham in Book 9, a tweet which JKR liked, leading to speculation that this was a correct guess.
An alligator
The design definitely suggests the rounded snout of an alligator rather than a crocodile. There is lots of speculation as to what this charm might represent. Personally, my money’s on a new office pet.
A bird
Although it’s not possible to identify the species, the shape and proportions would suggest a crow or raven.
A book with a cross on the cover
When asked about this she confirmed ‘The book is a psalm book and holds real, miniature psalms.’
A circular medallion with a face
Responding to a request for a better look at this charm, JKR tweeted this photograph.

Nick Jeffery sourced the charm here which identifies the figure as Persephone.
This fits with JKR’s previous hint here that we can expect to see allusions to the myth of Cupid and Psyche in Book 9. Persephone appears in the myth as Queen of the Underworld.
Let the speculation continue!
