J.K. Rowling has revealed the title of the ninth Strike novel. She posted on X on 13th February 2026 that the book will be called Sleep Tight, Evangeline.
There is no release date yet for the book, which she is still in the process of writing. Sleep Tight, Evangeline will, as far as we know, be the penultimate book in the series.
The StrikeFans team were the first to hear the title when we met with J.K. Rowling earlier that day!
Sleep Tight, Evangeline – don’t forget the comma – has provoked much speculation among fans, with some believing there’s a possible link to an American band called Whiskey Shambles, who have a song with the same title from 2014.
Another speculated inspiration for the title is the Longfellow poem, ‘Evangeline’.
