They’re seemingly everywhere. You can especially find Pret A Mangers in London and New York City.
And that’s not to complain. Pret A Manger offers fast food (“pret a manger” means “ready to eat” in French) that we think is actually fresh, delicious and not half bad for you. So if you happen upon one of their locations, we recommend you try it out. They offer tasty morsels such as sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, fruit, yogurt and breakfast food.
One of the Pret A Mangers is featured in Career of Evil, chapter 43. Before Strike and Robin go to the Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery to interview Jason and Tempest, they first meet at the Pret A Manger on King’s Road in Chelsea. Here is its location back in 2011:
Cormoran orders Robin a coffee when she arrives, and they sit at a table by the window. She’s carrying a white bag with Jimmy Choo shoes for her wedding, and the two of them have a cute little exchange about the “high, glittery champagne-colored heels,” which Strike declares as being “a bit rock ‘n’ roll for a wedding.”
It’s also the scene in which Strike mulls over the fact that “he could think of literally nothing he wanted to do less than watch Robin marry Matthew.”
