Betty’s of Harrogate – Where Robin and Linda go after the wedding dress refitting.
Blondin Street – The street where Noel Brockbank lives with Alyssa Vincent and her daughters.
  Caffe’ Vergnano 1882 – Where Strike has breakfast and writes a list at the end of the book.
Catford Broadway – The area of London where Strike and Robin stake out Jeff Whittaker’s flat.
Charing Cross Road/Tottenham Court Road – Roads near Denmark Street.
Clarence Terrace – The street where Elin Toft’s flat is situated, a short walk from Baker Street.
Corby – A small town where Strike and Robin journey to meet Lorraine MacNaughton.
Corsica Studios – A club featured near the end of the book.
  The Court – The pub where Strike and Robin meet while she’s doing surveillance work.
Denmark Street – The street where Strike’s office (and home) is located.
Ealing – The area of London where Robin and Matthew live.

Harrogate  A town near Robin’s hometown of Masham.
Hazlitt’s  The elegant hotel in Soho where Robin spends the night.
Le Gavroche – The restaurant where Strike and Elin (start to) have dinner.
Market Harborough – The market town where Brockbank used to work.
Masham – The small market town in Yorkshire that Robin is from.
Melrose  The town in Scotland where Donald Laing came from.
Octavia Street – Where Nick and Ilsa live.
Old Blue Last – The live music venue where Strike meets Mr. and Mrs. Wardle.
Piccadilly Circus – The iconic circular thoroughfare in London.
Pret A Manger – The chain restaurant where Strike and Robin meet prior to their interview of Jason and Tempest at Gallery Mess.
  Soho – An artsy area of London not far from Denmark Street.
Spearmint Rhino  A strip club that figures into one of Strike and Robin’s cases.
  St. Mawes – The small town in Cornwall where Strike spent half his childhood, and where his Aunt Joan and Uncle Ted still live.
Stage Door Cafe – The little restaurant at Catford Broadway where Robin talks with Stephanie.
Summers Lane, Finchley – Where Hazel Furley lives.
The Tottenham Pub – Strike’s favourite pub.
Trebah Garden – Strike recalls the garden as being one of the most beautiful places he’s visited.
