Running Grave locations

JK Rowling leaves fans clues about what she is currently writing through changing her Twitter header.  Whilst writing The Running Grave the photographs she has used mean that we know that places in and around Cromer in north Norfolk will feature in the upcoming book.  StrikeFans have been to visit these locations in advance of the book’s publication, and here we share some of our photos.

Cromer pier and seafront

Rowling changed her header to this photo of Cromer Pier on 4th March 2022:

She also used this picture of Cromer seafront from 2nd January 2023:

St John the Baptist, Aylmerton

On 21st January 2023, JKR changed her header to this picture of the church at Aylmerton, which is a small village just a few minutes away from Cromer:

We have a little more information about this location – whilst we were visiting Rowling tweeted to let us know Strike sits in the third pew from the back on the right hand side.

Lion’s Mouth, Aylmerton

On 31st March 2023 Rowling began using this picture as her header, which is of a country lane called the Lion’s Mouth which is also in the village of Aylmerton.

It is part of the Felbrigg Estate, which is owned by the National Trust.  It runs through a pretty wood of beech, oak and chestnut trees.
