Dennis Chauncey is the second husband of Pat Chauncey, the agency’s office manager.

Strike and Robin first meet Dennis in this book. He is described as a pudgy, bespectacled fair-haired man of around seventy. He is wearing a Queens Park Ranger football strip and brown trousers of the type Strike was used to seeing on Ted. He has a copy of the Daily Mail under his arm (Ch 114).
