Daz lives in the same house, converted into bedsits, that William Wright lived in before he was murdered.  He lives with his partner Mandy and their son Clint. 

Strike and Robin go to the house in St Georges Avenue and meet Mandy who agrees to speak to them about Wright.  She lets them into their bedsit where Daz is asleep, lying face down on the double bed, but he wakes up when Strike and Robin enter the room. Daz has long greasy hair, and Strike ‘recognised in the sleepy man the signs of a fully committed pothead: slothful speech, dazed affect and a slight, though in this instance not unreasonable, paranoia’ (Chapter 18).

He has no clothes on under the duvet and Mandy throws him a pair of jeans to put on. Danny is ‘both skinny but also soft-looking, a small white paunch hanging over his jeans’. He has a tattoo of the Roman numerals for four and twenty on his back (Chapter 18).
