After leaving his newest Temp, Robin/Sandra, in the office – with a wallet full of bank notes from his new client John Bristow – Cormoran Strike heads to The Tottenham pub on Oxford Street.
On his way, he navigates the ongoing construction works and passes beneath the towering Centre Point.

He crosses New Oxford Street and passes the Dominion Theatre.

The Dominion Theatre is a famous theatre on Tottenham Court Road, near the junction with Oxford Street, Charing Cross Road and New Oxford Street. It is also mentioned in the book that a statue of Freddie Mercury stands outside the theatre, head bowed, hand raised like a “pagan god of chaos.” Unfortunately, the statue is no longer there.

After passing the Dominion Theatre, Strike then crosses Tottenham Court Road and arrives in his favourite cosy pub, The Tottenham, on Oxford Street.
After leaving the pub, Strike ambles off up Oxford Street to kill time.
