Earlier today, Friday, 15th March, J.K. Rowling revealed on Twitter/X that the title of the eighth novel in the Strike series is The Hallmarked Man. She posted a couple of photos of the island of Sark and one of a silver bracelet with a Sark coat-of-arms hallmark.
We don’t know much about the book yet, but one of J.K. Rowling’s previous Twitter/X header photos was of the Freemasons’ Hall, London:
Another one of her headers has included La Coupée, Sark, in the Channel Islands:
There isn’t a release date yet as she’s still writing the book. However, on 21st February, she revealed that she had just finished writing Part 6 of the novel (out of a greater number than 6).
We could be optimistic and hope for a late 2024 or early 2025 release, but this is just pure speculation.
In other news, in case you missed it, the sixth Strike novel, The Ink Black Heart, is currently being filmed with Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger returning as Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. The series will have four episodes and is again being directed by Sue Tully with a script by Tom Edge.
