The New Inn is a pub in the small village of Roughton, Norfolk. It’s just a few miles from Cromer and Aylmerton.
In the Prologue of The Running Grave, a letter is sent from Lady Sally Edensor to her son Will on 16 April 2012 requesting he meet her and his father at the New Inn in Roughton that Saturday (21 April 2012) at 1pm.
We find out from another letter sent from Sir Colin Edensor to Will on 26 April that he didn’t show up at the pub to meet them.
The village of Roughton also has a church called St Mary’s, which looks very similar to St John the Baptist church in Aylmerton.
