The Gatehouse

Robin, disguised as Jessica Robins, bumps into Pez in Highgate Cemetery. Pez asks her to go for a drink with him and takes her to The Gatehouse.

“The Gatehouse was now in sight: a large black-and-white timbered building with seats and tables outside.”

“They entered a very large bar area, with brick walls and wooden floors, in which many tables stood, a third of them already occupied.”

“Pez was sitting at a circular table for two in a far corner, beside a window, a glass of red wine and a pint of lager in front of him. He’d moved his chair closer to Robin’s, so that instead of sitting opposite each other they were virtually side by side” (The Ink Black Heart, Chapter 67).
