Wild Court is an alleyway that runs alongside the Freemasons’ Hall in Holborn. It is the location of the fictional silver shop Ramsay Silver, where the body of ‘William Wright’ was discovered in the vault.
Wild Court was also one of J.K. Rowling’s X header photos, as a teaser, before the publication of the book.
Strike and Robin go to Ramsay Silver on Wild Court in Chapter 14 to meet Kenneth Ramsay, who shows them the shop and the silver vault. After showing them the vault, Strike asks to use the toilet. Kenneth and Robin go back upstairs while Strike exams the downstairs security.
On the CCTV footage of the night of the murder, four men are seen on Wild Court. A Peugeot car was used as a getaway vehicle that night.
Ramsay Silver is described as being situated between the red brick of the Connaught Rooms and the white stone of the Freemason’s Hall.
In Chapter 21, after Strike has just spoken to Shanker in The Falcon in Ealing, he heads not for Denmark Street, but for Wild Court. He buys Robin’s Christmas present here, on Wednesday, 7 December 2016.
