On the morning of Thursday, 12th January, J.K. Rowling gave us a clue to guess the title of the seventh book in the Strike & Ellacott series, tweeting: “Disentangle the hanging venturer” with letter spaces “_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _”.
She replied to The Strike and Ellacott Files’ comment and confirmed that the title is The Running Grave, which is an anagram of “the hanging venturer”.
The Running Grave likely comes from the poem by Dylan Thomas, titled “When, Like A Running Grave”, which you can read here.
You can also read our Pre-Release Timeline page for The Running Grave here, which shows everything we know about the book so far.
