St John the Baptist church lies in the middle of the small village of Aylmerton, around 3 miles from the coastal town of Cromer.

We first learnt that the church would be featured in The Running Grave from a Twitter header photo that J.K. Rowling uploaded.

From a Tweet by J.K. Rowling while we were there, we learnt that Strike sits on the right hand side, the third pew from the back. But of course we don’t yet know what Strike is doing here in the story. Here are some photos of the church:
