Tom Waits
Tom Waits is Cormoran Strike’s favourite musical artist. He is also someone he can listen to and not be reminded of his ex-fiancé Charlotte.

On a weekend, (in Part 2, Chapter 8), Strike plays a Tom Waits CD on the small CD player he didn’t think he’d ever see again, but had been packed in one of the boxes Charlotte left for him at her flat.
Elbow
After listening to the Tom Waits CD, Strike swaps it for an Elbow CD and continues to peruse the internet for information about the Lula Landry case.
