James Edensor

James Edensor is the son of Sir Colin and Sally Edensor, and brother of Edward and Will.  He is married with twin boys of twelve months old.

Strike and Robin meet with James, Sir Colin, and Edward in the Coffee Room at the Reform Club on Pall Mall. Sir Colin has invited Strike and Robin to lunch to ask if they would help with the case of his son Will who is a member of the Universal Humanitarian Church. James resembles his father in appearance although with darker hair and a less good humoured appearance (Chapter 4).

At the meeting James lets his feelings be known about his brother Will saying he was a “self-centred monomaniacal little shit’ who could be patronising. James goes on to say he will never forgive his brother Will for not turning up to their mother’s funeral (Chapter 4).

We meet James again later in the book (Chapters 105 and 134).
