Chloe Griffiths

Chloe Griffiths is a friend of Tyler Powell’s from Ironbridge.

Robin first comes across her using the username ‘chloegriff’ on Instagram. She has posted group photographs which include Tyler (Chapter 15).

When Strike and Robin visit Ironbridge to interview Tyler Powell’s grandmother, Dilys, they meet her neighbour Ian Griffiths who invites them into his home to wait for Dilys. Whilst there Robin notices a framed photograph of ‘a pretty dark haired woman’ with ‘her arms around an equally pretty little girl’.  Griffiths says the photo is of his wife, who died of breast cancer, and his daughter Chloe. He says that Chloe is ‘all grown up now and interrailing with her boyfriend’ (Chapter 66). Griffiths tells them that Chloe and Tyler were good friends until the car accident in which Chloe’s good friend, Anne-Marie died (Chapter 66).

Whilst following Albie Simpson-White into a pub called the Sun in Splendour, Robin sees she has received a long message from an unknown number. The message is from Chloe Griffiths and states that Tyler ‘isn’t the nice sweet guy Dad thinks he is’.  She says he was ‘intense and possessive’ with her friend Ann-Marie, and another friend of hers, Zeta, also had a bad experience with him (Chapter 71).

Robin finds two Instagram accounts for Chloe. The older account features pictures taken around Ironbridge, and the newer one ‘many pictures of her and her boyfriend interrailing’ (Chapter 99).
