We first hear of Charlie Peach under his Drek’s Game pseudonym in chapter 5, in which Hartella puts forward his name to Anomie as a potential new mod.

Charlie and his brother, Oliver, are members of The Halvening, a far-right terrorist organisation which is targeting right-wing victims, mostly women, either directly with pipe bombs or by spreading lies about them on the internet and other types of harassment.

We first see Charlie outside the game in chapter 42 when Strike follows Thurisaz, another member of The Halvening, to the Ship & Shovell, where Charlie meets with Wally Cardew to recruit him to their cause.

It is Strike who works out Charlie’s true identity and passes the information on to Ryan Murphy (ch 62), which leads to his arrest.
