Strike rang the doorbell to meet a client in an office building, the door opens and Strike went in. Minutes later Kelsey Platt arrives. Both took the lift upstairs, but didn’t met each other. Kelsey went into an empty room. From the window she had a view to the lightning “White Chapel”-sign of the Whitechapel Building on the opposite. Suddenly someone put a plastic foil around her head.The next day a cleaning lady found a dead body in the room. DI Wardle and Vanessa Ekwensi are on the way to the crime scene along Whitechapel High Street
The location where it’s filmed is in an office building at 133 Whitechapel High Street, opposite of the Whitechapel Building. What looks like the lobby of an office building is the Café “Department of Coffee and Social Affairs” on the ground floor
Bateman/Frith Street
After Strike chase the suspect through Tyler’s Cort we see him run out of entrance 15 Bateman Street, chase the suspect, further on around the corner into Frith Street down to China Town

After Robin interviewed Holly Brockbank in Barrow-in-Furness Strike asked in a pub for a cheap overnight stay. Robin and Strike having some drinks, Strike talks about Brockbank’s crimes. It was filmed in Chenies, a village northwest from London.

48 Allerton Court Hotel, Northallerton
This hotel was used as “Comfort City”, where Robin an Strike asked for two single rooms,
one bed in each room. After the overnight stay they wanted to go back to London, but they
decide to drive to Corby, because Wardle called Strike and told him the address of
Donald Laing’s former girlfriend Lorraine, which lives in Corby

Elephant & Castle
Robin is looking for the building, where Donald Laing lives at Elephant & Castle. She sees some sky scrapers like the Strata Buildung. In a news paper Robin and Strike found an article about Donald Laing with a photo taken from the view out of room window and realize the Strata Building in the background. Robin walks down to the Strata Building with a lightning elephant sign, passing the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre with pink Elephant statue, carrying a castle on his back. Then Robin walks to the subway station, and discovered the buildung where the photo was taken, and where Donal Laing lives.
It’s the Perronet House opposite of Elephant & Castle Tube Station
The Shopping Centre with Elephant statue not longer exists. It was demolished in
October 2020, a new shopping centre will build in 2021.
The Elephant statue will be restored and relocated at Castle Square during construction.
It will then move to a space in the new town centre when the project is finished.
Perronet House
The place, where Donald Laing lives. Strike went to the Perronet House and met
Donnie Laing on the floor. Strike was surprised, when he saw the disabled Donnie Laing moving slowly with his walking frame.
After Strike discovered a fake photo of Donnie Laing and his friend Strike went to the
Perronet House again as a gasman to search his flat for proof of his thoughts. After he found some cruel things he was attacked by Donnie Laing, and they both fought violent in the flat
The 11-story Perronet House was build in 1970, the apartments themselves are multi-story
