In chapter 24 of The Ink Black Heart, Robin spends the morning sat on a bench watching Fingers’ flat in Sloane Square.
Around midday, Fingers leaves his flat and walks to The Botanist, a restaurant that he frequents, similar to how Robin and Strike often go to the kebab shop at the end of Denmark Street for lunch.
Because the restaurant is fully booked, Robin lingers outside until Midge arrives at 2pm to take over surveillance.
