Founded in 1916, SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) is a public research university located in Bloomsbury, central London.

In The Cuckoo’s Calling, Robin follows her own lead and visits SOAS Library to try and find any information related to Professor Agyeman, Lula Landry’s biological father. She ends up talking to someone in the politics department.

Marlene Higson mentions to Strike that Lula’s biological father had mentioned visiting a museum a lot. Robin points out that SOAS is close to the British Museum.
Scenes for the TV series were also filmed in the library, on 5th January 2017.

You can see Robin (Holliday Grainger) enter through the main entrance. She logs into one of the computers to see what Lula Landry has borrowed from the library.

Later, she returns to the library and talks to a lecturer on the third floor who tells her Professor Agyeman had died.

The SOAS library is available to the public, but you have to apply for a day-only membership on their website and collect a pass from reception.

You can find SOAS on Google Maps, here:
