King’s Cross and St Pancras

Kings Cross

King’s Cross is a train station in Central London that acts as one of the main stations for transport to the north.

King’s Cross is featured heavily in the Harry Potter series as the station where students catch the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9-3/4. We first see King’s Cross Station in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone when Harry is about to board the train and bumps into the Weasley family.

Exterior shots of St Pancras International Station were also included in the Potter films.

King’s Cross Station has become a tourist attraction for Harry Potter fans worldwide and has a shop devoted to selling Potter merchandise. There’s also a Platform 9-3/4 wall where you can have your photo taken.

The station is also featured in the second Cormoran Strike novel and TV adaptation, The Silkworm.

Run at the wall if you like, but don’t expect any compensation.
