The Cuckoo’s Calling on DVD soon!

All episodes of the first two Cormoran Strike mysteries, The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm, aired back in August and September on BBC One. The adaptation has received great reviews and critical acclaim for the leading roles portrayed by Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger.

You can find our review of Episode 1 here.

In The Cuckoo’s Calling, Strike and Robin investigate the sudden death of supermodel Lula Landry, who is determined by the police to have committed suicide. As the case unfolds, however, it becomes increasingly clear to Strike and Robin that it was in fact murder.

We at StrikeFans.com were lucky enough to get our hands on an early copy of The Cuckoo’s Calling DVD, which is to be released in the UK on November 27th.

The DVD includes all three hour-long episodes. Unfortunately, there aren’t many special features. There are no outtakes or behind-the-scenes footage, apart from a four-minute featurette that was previously released online. It includes interviews with director Michael Keillor, actors Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger, and author J.K. Rowling.

Start your striking DVD collection (sorry – couldn’t help ourselves!) and rewatch The Cuckoo’s Calling over and over and over again by pre-ordering the DVD from Amazon UK here.

The third Cormoran Strike mystery, Career of Evil, will air sometime in 2018 on BBC One.

The US air date for The Cuckoo’s Calling, under the series name CB Strike, is set to air on Cinemax in June 2018.

Executive producer Ruth Kenley-Letts has already stated that as soon as the fourth book, Lethal White, is released, they will start preparing for the next series. With “at least another ten books” on the way, it looks like we’ll be enjoying Tom and Holliday’s Strike and Robin for a very long time!
