While Robin takes a week off to move, Strike hires Denise as a temp to help cover basic office duties. Unfortunately for Strike, with Denise’s nonstop chatter and a “whiny, nasal voice”, Strike finds her to be “as irritating a woman as Strike has ever met.” Strike resorts to headphones or leaving the office entirely to avoid her.
