4 years of StrikeFans!

Raise your pints of Doom Bar in celebration of 4 years of StrikeFans.com!

It’s been a fun 4 years for us at StrikeFans. Whether you’ve been with us from the start or discovered our site more recently, we would like to thank you all for the support!

To celebrate the anniversary of the website, here are some highlights from the years.

Filming in Masham

In January 2017, we were lucky enough to get the chance to watch the filming of Career of Evil at St Mary’s church in Masham and meet actors Tom Burke, Holliday Grainger and Kerr Logan. We reported our experience through the site.

Strike Read-Along

As well as hosting a read-along on Twitter, we also made use of our Forums page to host a read-along of the Strike books, uniting fans while we all read the books together. We should do it again!

The Cuckoo’s Calling Premier

In August 2017, the BFI in London’s Southbank hosted the premier event of The Cuckoo’s Calling, a screening of the first episode, followed by a Q&A with Tom Burke, Holliday Grainger, writer, director and executive producer.

Q&A with Tom Burke, Holliday Grainger, writer, director and executive producer.

Prior to the screening, StrikeFans were very lucky to have the opportunity to interview Tom and Holliday for 30 minutes each.

Exclusive Interviews

As well as interviewing Tom and Holliday at the BFI in person, over the years we have interviewed some of the supporting cast of Strike via email, including Sarah Gordy (Orlando Quine), Bronson Webb (Evan Duffield), Matt King (Jeff Whittaker), Kierston Wearing (Leda Strike), Ann Akin (Vanessa Ekwensi), Paul Butterworth (Michael Ellacott) and Joe Johnsey (Martin Ellacott). We were also invited to interview Tom Burke for a second time for the release of The Cuckoo’s Calling DVD. You can find all our exclusive interviews here.

Giveaways

The Strike PR teams have been very generous with us over the years, helping us provide fans with DVD giveaways and even a signed Lethal White giveaway. Be sure to keep an eye on the site for future giveaways!

Locations

The Strike locations were the reason StrikeFans.com started in the first place. They’re definitely our favourite part about doing the site. After arranging a trip to London in 2016 and visiting many of the Strike locations from the first three books, we decided to create a website where we could share all our photos and write about each location. We had no idea how big the site would become and that we’d still be doing it 4 years later.

Some of our favourite locations to visit have been Denmark Street, The Flying Horse (The Tottenham), Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Serpentine Bar & Kitchen, and Masham. Let us know if you’d like us to write a more extensive list of our top locations to visit!

We hope that you have enjoyed our content over the years and will continue to enjoy it. We’d like to think of the site as a place Strike fans can find anything and everything Strike, kind of like a Strike Encyclopaedia.

We welcome guest posts on the site. If you’d like to contribute something, all you have to do is let us know through our contact form. We look forward to hearing from you.

Again, thank you for all your support!
