Tom Burke Is Orson Welles in Latest David Fincher Movie, ‘Mank’

The story centres on the life of Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) while writing Citizen Kane. During production and leading up to the film’s release, problems arose between him and Orson Welles (Tom Burke).

It’s filmed entirely in black and white and has a runtime of 131 minutes. Mank is scheduled to be released in select theaters in November before it’s streaming on Netflix on December 4.

Jack Fincher, David’s father, penned the original script, prior to his death in 2003.

Mank got the greenlight relatively fast. They announced it July 2019, filming started in November of that year and wrapped in February 2020. They shot the movie in Los Angeles and Victorville, California.

Other cast members include Amanda Seyfried as Marion Davies, Lily Collins as Rita Alexander, Tom Pelphrey as Joseph L. Mankiewicz, Tuppence Middleton as Sara Mankiewicz, Joseph Cross as Charles Lederer and Leven Rambin as Eve, with Arliss Howard as Louis B. Mayer and Charles Dance as William Randolph Hearst.

According to collider.com these actors are also expected to appear: Craig Robert Young as Charlie ChaplinSebastian Faure as Clark GableMichelle Twarowska as Joan CrawfordScarlet Cummings as Bette Davis and Natalie Denise Sperl as Greta Garbo.
